Date of Birth: 11th January 1954, Ube, Yamaguchi. Graduated, Faculty of Science, Kumamoto University, with the degree of Bachelor of Science (Physiology), 1976, and obtained Ph.D., Degree in Science, 2001.
Researcher (Development of depressors, cardiotropic drugs and antiarrhythmic drugs), Department of Pharmacology, Research Laboratory, Zenyaku-kogyo Co., Ltd., 1980-1986. Research Resident (Research on pathogenesity of enteroviruses), Department of Virology, National Institute of Health, 1987-1990. Chief Researcher (Planning and administration of the biological safety level 3 laboratories, analysis and control of biological aerosols), Department of Architecture, Technical Research Center, Aoki Co. Ltd., 1990-1993. Senior Researcher (Analysis and control of biological aerosols, research on pathogenesity of enteroviruses and chimeric SHIV and development of pathogen inventory system, etc.) and Biosafety officer, Division of Biosafety Control and Research, National Institute of Infectious Diseases, 1993-present.
2006 - 2014: Responsible for JICA project ﹍Capacity Development for NIHE to Control Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam﹎, and ﹍Capacity Development for Laboratory Network in Vietnam of Biosafety and Examination of Highly Hazardous Infection Pathogens﹎, through lecturing, advising and training of Biosafety according to the situation of Vietnam.
2010-2012: Responsible for Hokkaido university project ﹍Establishment of Rapid Diagnostic Tools for Tuberculosis and Trypanosomiasis in Zambia﹎, through investigation the current situation of Biosafety in University of Teaching Hospital (UTH) at Lusaka Zambia.
