Manufacturing Industry Innovation Forum 2015 in Bangkok -Sharing Advantages of Thailand and Technologies of Japan to Build “Strongest Factories in Asia”-

MONOZUKURI - Japanese spirit of manufacturing techniques and know-how building the corporate Japan that we know today, is gathering keen attention from Asian nations. The word MONOZUKURI is now spreading across industries around the world as a technical term originated from Japan.
As a media house, Nikkei BP is humbly proud of having contributed to some advancement in the Japanese manufacturing world, by publishing the professional magazines Nikkei Monozukuri and Nikkei Automotive Technology while also launching the website Nikkei Technology Online. Based on our experience and expertise, we are now committed to expand our role as a mass media to other parts of Asia.

In 2014, we held a series of conferences in Thailand, India, Indonesia and Vietnam for contributing to enhance the “manufacturing power” of mainly automotive industries in those countries. This conference series provided opportunities to share insights on the challenges of Japanese automakers and auto parts manufactures expanding in Asian nations, and to discuss innovative approaches taken by local manufacturers in the countries hosting the conferences. All events were followed by networking receptions where speakers and audiences got together for fostering mutual understanding and friendship. This conference series held in the four countries brought together over 1000 participants in total.

For 2015, Nikkei BP continues to hold another series of seminars and events to exchange views on how to bottom-up the “manufacturing power” across Asia. As the first approach, we will organize a seminar in Bangkok of Thailand in mid-March this year. The event, which will be held under the theme of “Factory Innovation”, will go beyond our previous event focused on the automotive industry only, and expand the targets to manufacturing businesses in general.

In the coming era of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), there is no doubt that the key role of ACE will be played by Thailand capitalizing on its geographical superiority and highly-advanced industries. By combining these advantages with the “manufacturing power” of Japan, Thailand will make another leap forward in enhancing its competitive position. With this in mind, our event will introduce latest case studies of Japanese factory innovations and solutions to Thai audience, and provide an opportunity to think again what actually makes the “world’s strongest” manufacturing power.

The main targets of this seminar are locally-hired Thai managers and executive candidates of production departments from either local companies or Japanese affiliates in Thailand. Nowadays, more Japanese manufacturers expanding in Asia hire local residents for managing the processes of production, design and development, and this trend is seen to gain momentum in the future. We hope this event would become a good stimulus for those aspiring and promising managers and executive candidates of Thailand.
